The fear of skipping social engagements, not having dinner out with your family or a host of other issues that juice fasting has on your lifestyle.
You still understand you need to become healthy and lose weight, but the burden is heavy, and the rewards seem so far away that they seem unattainable right? I’ve been there myself, so don’t fret, I will show you the way.

Juice bars are popping up world wide, and if you live in a decent sized city, you may not need as juicer, you could easily visit a juice bar 3 times a day and not have the fuss of owning a juicer and shopping. This could make this process easier.
What I am about to share with you will give you the ability to lose a half pound a day, starting today, as soon as you finish reading this post. You will not have to stop eating anything you love, no doing without anything, is that a proposition you can easily accept?
Here are 11 simple but effective tips to losing weight with the benefits of juicing.
Let’s melt the pounds away.
Step 1: Commit
Commit to juicing 6 to 8 ounces of juice just 20 minutes before eating a meal.
It may sound too simple to be true and may seem like just another twist of the glass of water before a meal trick, but it’s not. Since there are nutrients and minerals in the juice, your bodies metabolism speeds up to digest foods, not just processing moisture.
You’re taking in a minimal amount of calories because it’s juice, kicking your metabolism into high gear and partially filling your stomach. Juicing helps you eat less of the foods that keep or add weight to your body. It’s a triple whammy, melting away fat like bacon in a frying pan.
Step 2: Ginger, Carrots, Lemons, & Limes
Use Ginger, carrots, lemons and limes to sweeten the taste of the juice without adding sugars. Stevia is also an option if you need your juice a bit sweeter.
Sugar has this bad habit of sending signals to the brain that you are still hungry. What a dirty and not so sweet trick sugar play on our brains, so eliminating sugar from your pre-meal juice gives your system the right signals before sugar can lie to your body.
Sugar may be the one major food (if you call it that) that causes more weight gain than any other substance on the planet. Juicing fructose spikes your insulin, and you could end up diabetic with too much juicing if you’re not careful.
Step 3: Use Organic Fruits & Veggies If You Can
Use only organic vegetables and fruits.
Most have no idea what they are putting in their bodies when eating what they think is “good” foods…like fruits and vegetables, but this is not reality.
By choosing organic over commercially farmed veggies, you eliminate wax coatings, chemicals and the chemicals associated with commercial fertilizers. There are some pretty nasty things that come with commercially produced farm products that your body does not need or want.
Look at it like putting trash in an engine, it will not run smooth. To lose weight, you are eliminating the trash from the engine.
Step 4: Wash Your Fruits & Vegetables
Wash your fruits and vegetables prior to juicing.
I know, some may not think of this because of the shiny surface of some vegetables, but it’s needed, even if you buy organic.
They have been touched by multiple hands, transported in the back of trucks and likely have had insects on them as some point in the recent past. The point is to wash all fruits and vegetables before juicing or eating them.
Step 5: Know How To Prepare Your Fruits & Veggies
When juicing fruits and vegetables, know which ones you can leave the skin on, which one you need to remove seeds from and so forth.
Here is a prime example. Apple seeds have small amounts of cyanide in them. Now if you are simply eating an apple and swallowing a couple, there is little danger for humans, but when you juice them, you are also “juicing” the seeds. Exposing your body to them in a much more potent manner. The small amount of cyanide will not kill you, but it could and likely does affect your body in negative ways.
Due diligence is the name of the game when juicing, and don’t worry, it’s simple, and you’ll have it down in a day or two.
Step 6: Juice Different Vegetables Daily
Juice different vegetables daily.
Skittles candy has the correct idea with their branded “Taste The Rainbow” commercial line, but they missed on what the rainbow should be. Choose different colors of fruits and vegetables as much as possible, but I would change the slogan slightly for juicing to “Experience The Rainbow”.
We’re creatures of habit and juicing is no different. We all develop favorites and tend to stick with them, but we need variety. This step is what makes weight loss happen fast.
There are a few reasons why our country is so fat, and, therefore, sick. Processed foods with all kinds of synthetic chemicals in them that are not good for us. Sugar causes acidity in the human body, messes up our insulin system, causes heart disease and more, and the fact that we are always hungry because we are mineral and nutrient deficient.
These three factors are the major problem with obesity in my opinion based on the research I have done over the last few years. The more variety you have, the more nutrients and minerals you get.
This is also why you need organic fruits and vegetables, you can’t get minerals from depleted soil, and this is why our food does not sustain us as in the pre-oil era.
Our current food supply has dropped in nutrients and minerals by up to half or more from just 50 years ago. Who knows what we lost since 1900 or the late 1800’s? We are starving in a land of plenty. Juicing organic fruits and vegetables is your solution.
Step 7: Make Enough For The Day In The Morning
Make enough for the day in the morning.
Find or buy a container that will hold at least 24 ounces, enough for three 8 ounce servings and store it in the fridge after your first juice. You can carry a smaller container to work for lunch (keep it cold!) and come home to the last one in the evening. It just makes sense.
Most will tell you the nutrients lose their value in the fridge, and they do to some degree, but not enough for it not to do its job. Your juice will last from 48 to 72 hours in the fridge, so 10 hours is not a big deal. You don’t have to go Rambo to make solid changes in your life and health.
Make it, drink it, store it and use throughout the day, and you will start feeling the results within about 48 hours. Then, it’s just making it part of your daily routine.
Step 8: Drink Your Juice Before Eating
8. Drink your juice on an empty stomach.
If you eat before you juice, you don’t absorb the nutrients and minerals as quickly, and the major focus is getting your body out of starvation mode and back to its original system.
Your body is essentially starving in a land of plenty, and juicing before meals is without a doubt the ultimate solution.
If you eat other foods first, the stomach starts producing acid, and you are likely to be full. Adding juice after a meal will just give you heartburn, another reason juice first and then the 20 minute wait before eating.
Step 9: Don't Juice Fast... Yet
As a beginner, stay away from juice fasting.
Some people are pushing juice fasting online, praising it to a religious level, but juice fasting can be extremely dangerous for some people, and it’s hard to get enough calories via only juicing.
Losing weight is fine, but losing it too fast and with the wrong things could cause more harm than good. Keep it simple, keep it safe, and if you do plan on juice fasting, make sure you see your doctor and follow the plan he/she gives you to complete your goals safely.
They will likely want to see you at least once a week and possibly twice a week for blood work and checkups if you go on a juice fast.
Step 10: Don't Replace Meals With Juice
Juicing is not a meal replacement.
Yes, contrary to popular belief, juicing should be considered a supplement, or as Food Babe stated: “Juicing is nature’s vitamin pill and should be consumed as a supplement .“
From my personal experience, I agree fully, she is a very smart person, you should read her blog on a regular basis.
The whole point of these tips is to get you juicing before meals, keeping you from feeling hungry and eating an excess of other not so good foods. It’s not a magic pill, not an end-all, and there is no one superfood that will make your weight problem disappear, so stop looking for it.
Step 11: Use A Great Juicer
Buy a good juicer, but work your way up to better ones if you can’t afford one now.
I started with a 125 dollar centrifugal juicer. It was the Jack LaLane; then I went to the Breville Juice Fountain, and I still have it to this day. It works great and has lasted a few years so far so don’t be afraid to use a centrifugal juicer if that is all you can afford.
Heck, you can even use a blender and some cheese cloth to make juice.
Just blend and strain.
Just about any blender or juicer will work for the person just starting out juicing. If you’re a beginner, you should take a look at our juicing for beginner’s guide.
Our juicing guide covers all of the different types of juicers and explains how they work, their pro’s and cons and much more. We even have a breakdown of the fruits and veggies, their benefits, vitamins, nutrient content and more.
It’s a great place to learn the basics.
Follow the tips from this post, and you will be melting the pounds away daily, feeling better and full of energy.
I used this method when fighting my gout attacks over the last 3 to 4 years and had some trouble at the beginning because I listened to the preachers of juicing instead of common sense. Juicing is a regular part of my daily life, and I have lost over 60 lbs doing what I have given you in this post.
