Swhey Review: The Protein Powder You’ve Been Waiting For
Sifting through all of the different protein powders available on the market today can be a daunting task, especially if you’re new to the idea of supplementing with it on a daily basis. The ingredients and the amounts of this and that can get a little complicated and confusing, but we’re here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way.
Swhey’s Halo protein powder is as simple and clean as it gets; no long laundry list of ingredients that you can’t seem to read, much less try to pronounce, no misleading packaging, and no confusing terminology.
Swhey Protein Powder Is Organic
Their Halo protein powder is all organic, so you know that you’re getting the best of what nature has to offer. The product is about as clean as you can expect something labeled “organic” to be: no pesticides, no additives, no fillers, chemicals, or anything else that doesn’t belong in your body.
Swhey Protein Powder Is Non-GMO
It’s also non-gmo, so there are absolutely no genetically modified ingredients in it whatsoever. It’s food just as nature intended, so you don’t have to worry about anything in it that shouldn’t be there.
It's Exactly What You Need To Lose Weight
With only 119 calories and 5g carbs in every 2 scoops, it’s a great solution if you’re looking to lose weight. It also contains 17 different amino acids, including all of the essential aminos that your body needs to function. You always get your daily dose of aminos when you use Halo.
Halo's Ingredient List Is Simple & Clean
Organic Protein Blend
Swhey’s proprietary protein blend contains: whey protein concentrate, brown rice protein isolate, and sacha inchi protein.
Whey protein concentrate is less processed and refined than whey protein isolate, so you’re getting a whey protein that has more health benefits to it. Isolate is more rapidly absorbed by the body, but it creates a higher insulin response than concentrate does.
Brown rice protein has a naturally sweet flavor to it and mixes pretty well into smoothies. Brown rice protein by itself is a little low in lysine (an amino acid) than whey protein is, but because Halo is a blend, this issue is easily overcome. Brown rice protein is also superior to soy protein due to soy containing unhealthy phytoestrogens.
If you haven’t heard of sacha inchi, it’s the seed of a plant that grows in the mountains of Peru. It’s often called the “Inca peanut” and the seeds are rich in many different vitamins and nutrients, such as protein, omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, vitamin A, fiber, and vitamin E in the form of alpha tocopherol.
Fair trade cocoa is cocoa that has been harvested from the cacao tree using a process that is designed to create sustainable incomes for farmers and their families in countries that cacao is grown. Companies that use fair trade cocoa are contributing to the social, economic, and environmental sustainability in agriculture; fair trade cocoa also comes from farms that do not use child labor.
Organic Natural Chocolate & Vanilla Flavors
The best flavors come from the food sources themselves, so when they say “organic flavor”, that’s exactly what they mean. Products labeled as organic cannot use anything that isn’t organic-compliant or anything that has been exposed to synthetic or toxic chemicals.
Coconut water is the fluid contained in young coconuts. It’s gradually replaced by the coconut “meat” and “milk” in later growth stages, but the milk has less nutrient content in it. The primary nutrient in coconut water is potassium, but it also contains sodium, calcium, and magnesium.
Organic Sri Lankan Cinnamon
This is also known as cinnamon ceylon and isn’t the same as common cinnamon cassia that we find in the grocery store here in the United States. It can reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.
Organic Guar Gum
This is a product that makes you feel full, slows down glucose absorptions, and normalizes cholesterol.
Pink Himalayan Salt
Pink himalayan salt comes from the Punjab regions of Pakistan somewhere around 190 miles or so from the Himalayas. The pinkish color gives away the fact that it has more mineral content than normal table salt and while other salts, such as celtic sea salt, are also high in minerals, they aren’t quite as high as the pink salt that comes from the Himalayas. It’s said that there are up to 84 different minerals in pink salt, including calcium, chloride, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and more.
Organic Vanilla Bean
Aside from just tasting great, vanilla beans contain magnesium, potassium, calcium, and manganese.
Organic Coconut Palm Sugar
Coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index than regular table sugar does, so it won’t spike your insulin as hard. It also contains inulin, which has the ability to stimulate the growth of good gut bacteria that is typically found in probiotics.
Monk fruit is a fruit that has natural compounds that have anywhere from 300 to 400 times the sweetness of regular table sugar. What it doesn’t have, though, is an effect on blood sugar… and it’s also 0 calorie.
Stevia has become a well known alternative natural sweetener that is native to South America; it is a natural, zero calorie sweetener that has also been known to lower blood pressure.
Sunflower lecithin is a compound naturally extracted from sunflowers that is good for heart health, cholesterol, brain health. It’s also good for the liver and blood pressure. Don’t confuse sunflower lecithin with soy lecithin, though; soy lecithin has to be extracted with nasty chemicals.
It's The Best Tasting Protein Powder Out There
The reviews for Halo protein powder are pretty telling: most who try it say it’s the best tasting protein powder that they’ve ever had. It’s being used in smoothies, muffins, cakes, cookies, and more because it’s just that good. (I prefer shakes, though! 🙂 )What else can you ask for besides a protein powder that gives you everything that you need, plus all of the essential amino acids, and still manages to taste fantastic?
I recently tried Halo myself, but I made the mistake of letting my husband try it. It’s a fight now to keep him out of mine and make him use his own!
The Company's Feedback Is Outstanding
From what I’ve witnessed, there’s nary an unhappy customer in sight. The reviews are stellar on everything from the taste of the product, the effectiveness, and even when it comes to helpfulness with international shipping. There aren’t many brands out there that will go to the lengths that Swhey does to take care of their customers; because of this, we’re happy to feature them on Sunflower Press.
